Spring 2008. Another trip to New Zealand to get some work in on our  cooker company there, but also to attend some of the Southbrook Traction Engine Club 50 years celebrations. Here is a picture of Morris Harris's Fowler no 13090 8nhp dcc TE belted up to his 5ft Clayton drum at the club rally in Rangiora  and making easy work of it.
Work continues on Foden 13222. This winter 07/08 we have made a new stub shaft and outrigger support bearing for the main gear cluster and bored out the bronze bush to suit. The gears should now run  parallel to the crankshaft and the main chain run true.
We had a good start to 2006 with a trip to New Zealand for the Burrell rally at Rangiora followed by a road run. What a great country and friendly people, a proper old style steam rally without all the tat that seems to be required at todays shows in the UK.
2006/2007   Winter work on Burrell 2646, always something needs doing. This year we have ground the slidebars, made new neck bushes, gland stuffer bushes and new piston rods and are fitting clupet piston rings after glaze busting the bores and re-machining the bronze slippers on the crosshead. Hopefully this will mean we can keep gland packing in a bit longer !
